21c peak solar buy back + $30 monthly credit

 Ecotricity Flexibility Services Programme

What are flexibility services?

If you own electrical devices such as solar panels, batteries, electric vehicles or hot water cylinders, these can be used in a ‘flexible’ manner to provide support to the local network and wider community.

By managing when and how these devices consume or store energy, they can help reduce pressure on the grid during peak demand times, improving overall efficiency and stability. This is particularly important for accelerating the country's shift towards renewable energy and decarbonization.

FAQs

How will controlling my device impact my system capacity and user experience?
Our flexibility platform works to enhance user experience so you can get the most of your battery, EV, and hot water systems. There will be no negative impact on your day-to-day experience with solar – rest assured you’ll be seeing all the benefits of Time-of-Use pricing as always.
What is the duration for the rates provided by Ecotricity under this programme?

Energy rates and buyback prices are fixed for a 12-month term. After this initial term we will contact you with an updated flexibility offering. You are free to leave the programme at any point, just let us know 30 days in advance.

Can I leave the programme?

Yes, and there are no penalties if you decide to leave. We just need notice via email 30-days in advance.

What happens if I have a dispute or if something goes wrong?

We are committed to offering an excellent experience. However, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Clara at solar@ecotricity.co.nz, or alternatively contact the Utilities Disputes on 0800 22 33 40

Will my battery life be reduced due to increased cycling?

We will not be cycling batteries more than they would be cycled normally. We have worked with our hardware partners to ensure that our cycling is not at odds with their standard functionality, and we recommend talking with your local installer if you have any concerns.
